I will not pretend that I know a lot about Maya Angelou. I will not google bits and pieces of articles to appear that I knew a great deal about her, but what I will do is acknowledge that with the little bit of what I know about the late Dr. Angelou, she was a master surgeon of words. Her words were like currency, and she was one of the richest icons to grace this planet. From “Still I Rise” to “Caged Bird,” her words were packed full of inspiration and love. I personally plan to read more of her work in the upcoming days. Just the little bit of new (to me) information that I found within the last 48 hours has been more of a confirmation to me that we truly lost an icon. I know she rests peacefully, so instead I say…Rest In Glory.

I took the liberty of finding and piecing together the Iconocast episode in which Dr. Angelou paired up with famed comedian Dave Chappelle. For those who don’t know me personally, Chappelle is my personal favorite comedian, and as you can see, not only in this video, but in countless other interviews, he is also a very deep, wise and socially conscious person. Here is the full episode of Iconocast, featuring Maya Angelou and Dave Chappelle (uploaded by ):
